Can Analysis services for SQL 2005 server be configured on windows 2000 server?

Hi,

I'm unable to find any documentation that indicates whether or not SQL 2005's XMLA is supported on Windows 2000.

I imagine that because it is supported on XP, per the following document:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/httpssas.mspx
...that it can be run from Windows 2000 with IIS 5.0 by following the same directions for configuring it.

Can anyone confirm if this is an accurate assessment? Has anyone else had experiences (good or bad) of running SQL 2005 XMLA on Windows 2000 / IIS 5.0?

p.s. this is also alongside a default instance of sql 2000 with the 2005 as a named instance.

HI,

Yes SQL 2005's XMLA is supported on Windows 2000. but prior to that we need MDAC 2.8 SP1 and .Net framework 2.0 to work properly.

I am not sure about the IIS5.0 but for IIS6.0 it works.

Thanks

Um, Windows 2000 server has IIS 5 and is why I'm asking the question.

Does anyone else have any experience setting this up on a Windows 2000 server and or why MS has information on their technet site that only references 2003 server or XP setup? As I understand it, IIS lives in a different process than the type of process it resides in for 2000, is this relative to the reason there's no documented support for it's configuration on this OS?
